CS-CNLT Compensated Neutron Logging Tool is used to measure formation porosity in both open holes and cased holes. It employs two thermal neutron detectors positioned at different distances from the neutron source: the near detector is called the Short-Spacing (SS) detector, while the far detector is called the Long-Spacing (LS) detector.
